Healthy Chocolate....the Possibilities are ENDLESS

If many of you are unaware,  cacao is the origional name for cocoa.  In other words.....chocolate.  I went to Nutri Foods last night to stock up on some superfood powders to embark on a RAW foods cleanse.  In tote I purchased; cacao powder, cacao knibs, and cacao butter.
My smoothie this morning connsisted of the following (note: serves 2 or one for breakfast and lunch)

1 tsp Vitamineral Green
1 frozen Banana
1 cup strawberries
1 cup frozen raspberries
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1 1/2 tbsp RAW Honey
1Tbsp cacao butter
1 Tbsp coconut butter
1 1/2 cup coffee
1/2 tsp Maca
1 tsp Mesquite
1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
2 Tbsp Hemp Seeds
Handful of Goji Berries
12 RAW Cashews

I just finished my second half and I am buzzing....like someone gave me a shot of methamphetamine...blissfully energizing.  Although the smoothie has more vitamins than most get in a month.... I  attribute my energy burst to the cacao...

Currently, there are over 100 medicinal uses for cacao...not chocolate, but the whole unsweetened bean. It can be used to stimulate breast milk production, enhance virility, treat cuts and burns, aid in digestion, liver function, and is also an anti-bacterial.

They say Aztec women consumed cacao as a complete religious experience.  Cacao is rumored to be a phsycic food that heals your physical body as well as your subconcious...All while providing a ginourmous energy burst...

Weird huh?  But truly.....there must be something to it....Dont know if Ive ever felt this way after a smoothie.....EVER.

The butter is also rumored to clear acne when used in place of moisturizer.  Just rub a sliver over your face when dry.  Dont over use as it will cause pores to clog.  Also beware of photosensitivity when using on the skin.

Stay tuned for more raw cacao recipes.....like  brownies, pies, shakes, and ice cream.   I fully intend on
exploring the many, many, more possibilities.......

Serioulsy???  Chocolate thats not only good for you but tastes better......Its just so American to take something perfect and process it to death.  True cacao bears only a SLIGHT resemblance to its more common counterpart...
